Dough
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 1/2 tablespoons yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (microwave 30 seconds)
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 7 cups flour
The good stuff
- 1 stick butter, softened
- Corn syrup
- Cinammon-sugar
Directions
- Stir together brown sugar, salt, yeast, and water. Let sit few minutes til foamy.
- Add eggs, olive oil, and flour.
- Knead several minutes til smooth and soft. Electric mixer works best.
- Let rise til doubled (about 1 hour), shape, let rise 30 minutes, bake.
- Put on floured surface and roll into a large rectangle. It probably shouldn't be more than a half-inch thick.
- Cut 2 tablespoons off the stick of butter and spread it over the dough.
- Sprinkle the dough with cinammon-sugar.
- Spread the rest of the butter on a half-sheet pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and drizzle with corn syrup.
- Starting on the long edge, roll up the dough. Cut into one-inch thick slices.
- Place the rolls in the pan, cut side down.
- Let rise til doubled.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes til nicely browned.
