- Preheat the oven to 350.
- Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Mix 2 c all-purpose flour, 1 t baking soda, 1/2 t baking powder, 1/2 t salt, 1/2 t ground cloves, 1 t ground cinnamon, 1 t ground nutmeg, and 1 t ginger.
- Beat 3/4 c melted butter with 1 c sugar on medium speed until just combined.
- Add 4 eggs one at a time. Beat each one in before adding the next.
- Beat in 2 c pumpkin.
- Add the dry ingredients and mix on low until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the top.
- Bake 15 minutes.
- Set on a wire rack and let cool completely.
Frosting
- Beat 8 T room-temp butter with 6 oz room-temp cream cheese on high speed until smooth and creamy.
- Beat in 1/8 t salt and 1 t vanilla.
- Add 3 c powdered sugar and beat on low for 30 seconds, then switch to high speed and beat until light and creamy.
- Spread the frosting on the cooled cake.
